How we count
A request is a request, until it's heavy. Bulk-distance matrices and isochrones do real work, so they cost real units. The cost is deterministic from the request body, never a black-box "session".

A 10×10 distance matrix is 100 units. Capped at 2,500.

FAQ
- Do you charge per map load or per request?
- Per request. One tile-token issuance counts as one unit. Pan, zoom and reload all you like inside that session. We don't bill for monthly active users, sessions, or device IDs.
- Is the free tier really free? What's the catch?
- No card on signup, no trial countdown, no calls home. The free tier is deliberately small: enough to evaluate the API and ship a prototype, not enough to run production traffic. Attribution to Rijwind is required.
- What happens when I hit the limit?
- Free is a hard cap: calls return 429 until the next monthly reset, which keeps surprise bills off the table. Paid plans are soft caps. Production traffic keeps flowing, and we email you at 80% and 100% before anything gets out of hand.
- Where does my data live?
- Owned-and-operated infrastructure in the Netherlands. No request body is logged beyond what's needed for billing counters, and nothing leaves the EU. A signed DPA is available for paid plans on request.
- Can I switch plans or cancel mid-month?
- Yes. Upgrades pro-rate immediately; downgrades take effect at the next renewal. Cancel anytime from the dashboard, and your account drops back to the free tier on the next cycle.
